About Terra Goodman

Terra L. Goodman, ISA AM CAPP

Appraiser of Fine & Decorative Art

Goodman Appraisal Services, Inc.

Terra Goodman is a generalist appraiser offering an array of professional appraisal services ranging from fine art insurance appraisals, to probate, divorce, as well as general household furnishings. She also provides public speaking and education on the subject of art and antiques.

In applying her trade, Terra's main objective is a simple one: to make an accurate, impartial, and informed valuation of each object appraised based on its true market value.

Terra often lends her services and talents to other appraisers, shops, and galleries here in Oregon by contributing her strength and knowledge in authentication/fakes vs. frauds, 19th Century artisanship, furniture, porcelain, silver, glass, paintings, works on paper, and collectibles.

Her passion for art may only be exceeded by a desire to share her knowledge with the general public. Most weekends, Terra can be found at any one of a number of Oregon antique shops and events where she provides her own brand of "Antiques Road Show" valuations for a growing contingent of both the curious and serious collectors.

Terra received her graduate level certification from Sotheby's Auction House New York in the study of American Fine & Decorative Arts.  She is also an accredited appraiser through the International Society of Appraisers.

Terra has participated in numerous other continuing education programs including Wake Forest University's Reynolda House Museum Art Interpretation program in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Portland State University's study abroad program in Barcelona, Spain – the history of art in Spain, and coursework at the Newport Rhode Island School of Architecture & Decorative Arts.
